The “Going Natural” Method of Fertility Treatments

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

At RSI, we’re open to any forms of fertility treatment, even those that might not be considered “mainstream”.  But sometimes, we see men and women who have tried homeopathic, so-called “natural” fertility treatments for years and years… only to realize that they’ve wasted their time — and dollars – on these methods.

If you’ve been wooed by the “go natural to get pregnant” headlines touting fertility treatments made up of everything from herbs to mild dietary changes, there’s usually not anything innately wrong with trying such methods to conceive.  In fact, many of our patients try or have tried alternative methods to have a child.

The real issue comes into play when patients have spent copious amounts of time and money investing in practices that have not produced any well-documented results.

Our recommendation is to bring all your thoughts and questions, including those involving “alternative” remedies, to a trained, reputable fertility specialist for a consultation.  That way, you can be assured that you’re not wasting any time on methods that are unlikely to work while simultaneously discussing all the choices that are available to you, including those that are homeopathic.

Infertility News to Know – Quebec Offering Government-Funded Fertility Treatments

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

What’s new in infertilitynews around the inter-webs?  Check out one item that’s been stealing headlines for the past week:

Quebec to Pay for IVF Treatments

The Canadian province of Quebec has passed a law that goes into effect later this summer and gives couples the option of getting government funded assistance to pay for their fertility treatments.

The law states that Quebec will pay for three rounds of fertility treatments for Quebec citizens.  It’s estimated that up to 10,000 Quebec couples are eligible to take advantage of this government funded program.

In America, fertility treatments are not covered by insurance plans; however, many fertility clinics try to keep their rates as reasonable as possible to help individuals and couples achieve their dreams of having children.

At RSI, we understand the importance of this kind of financial responsiveness and always aim to provide the most valuable service at a competitive rate.  We will continue to offer the most cost-effective, safe and proven methods for our patients.

  • Katie Price to Undergo Fertility Treatments

    Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

As we’ve discussed with other celebs, many are choosing to go public with their infertility journeys.  And Katie Price is no exception.

Price is a British model/actress/singer and although she might not be as well-known to people in the U.S. as she is in the U.K., she’s gaining popularity… not to mention headlines.

Unlike the “typical” Hollywood IVF story, Price is still young — in her early thirties.  As more information comes forward, it will be interesting to hear which fertility treatments she chooses.
