Thank you for sharing this article. This is so helpful and inspriging. I also would like to share that there are fertility supplements that can boost fertility chances. There's Beefertile, a natural product that is available to both men and women. Check it out - www.beefertile.com

Good luck to ALL couples starting their IVF journey. Inherent to this process are inevitable up's and down's. Sometimes the best medicine is a little humor. In this spirit, here is a link to a YouTube humor video I created about my wife and my journey called "What I learned at the Fertility Clinic." Enjoy: http://tinyurl.com/3k2dzkb

There are many "ART- assisted Reproductive Technologies" that may have helped her. Clomid is one, Those hormones are the same injectibles they use for IVF to help a woman ovulate more than one egg. I so wish these older mom celebs would be honest. She is 42 and has twins....sure no help at all.

I disagree that there's nothing humorous about infertility and working with a fertility clinic. As part of a couple involved in our own long journey, humor can be the best medicine. See if you agree. Here’s my own humorous fertility video from the male perspective: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-PAwbTt4Og

Soy is the lesser evil here. The huge amount of plastics we are exposed to in our lives, contain xenoestrogens, much more stronger and persistent than weak soy estrogens.

I believe that reduced fertility in developed nations is due partly to the prominence of pre-cooked/pre-made items in plastic containers. Developing nations, while not as favorable in terms of nutrition, have less exposure to plastics (e.g. water bottles) and thus have a higher fertility.

It's indeed a boon to many women who are trying to conceive. Really nice blog. Everything is rightly said. Especially, the part where a woman tends to get frustrated if she is unable to conceive. IVF is indeed a boon to such people.

Hi, Infertility should be a growing awareness due to the growing condition.Even though there are treatments like Invitro fertilization which have showed quite a decent success rate, there is no assurance that it will be 100 % successful on every patient. So, one has to choose the correct Infertility Clinics which have the best Infertility Specialists so that they can guide you through the right path! you should check out the link vermesh.com for more information regarding the same!!!

Another person facing infertility in NZ here. We are on the waiting list for our first round and are very lucky that it is publicly funded (if it works of course, otherwise we might be calling ASB).

While on the wrong day the advert has me in tears, I agree that overall I find it comforting that it is becoming more normalised. My husband and I have decided to be quite open about the fact we are starting IVF in July, if people ask us if we plan on having kids or not we casually say, hopefully we will through IVF and we are lucky to have to rounds funded coming up! While he is usually quite private we feel it is important to consider it a normal process required for us to have a family and don't think it should be some scary personal medical process to be kept behind closed doors.

I am a 41 year old woman, also from New Zealand, who gave birth to triplets after 6 IVF attempts. I agree with Samantha that, although not supporting the ASB Bank as such, it was gratifying to see IVF being shown as something that a lot of people go through, and that it is a very emotionally and financially draining process. During the three and a half years we had our six cycles I felt very much like it should be 'hidden' and felt so much sadness, stress and pain. If nothing else, these ads have made IVF a talking point and bought it to the attention of the general public, who often have no idea of the stress and strain involved, or even of what it entails.

I understand that New Zealand clinics only implant one embryo at a time so the chances of it splitting three ways, to result in triplets, is highly unlikely.
I had my IVF treatments in England, where it is standard to implant two embryos: one of my embryos split into identical twin girls, the other was a boy. I realize how VERY VERY lucky we have been.
